Nestled in the quiet fields of the Winthrop Lakes region, Little Ohana Farm is more than a working farm, it’s a living expression of purpose, family, and resilience. For Felicia, a 24-year Army Reserve veteran and lifelong animal care specialist, the land is both a calling and a continuation.
From early mornings spent in her childhood barn to decades spent caring for military working animals, farming has always been central to life. “There’s something grounding about it, something real,” she reflects. “Raising animals, working the land, feeding the community. It’s not just a livelihood. It’s life!”
Little Ohana Farm specializes in sustainable livestock and poultry production, offering pasture-raised eggs, chicken, turkey, and pork. The farm aligns with the rising consumer demand for ethically raised, locally sourced foods, meeting it not just with product, but with purpose. The livestock are raised in humane conditions, with space to forage naturally. Every element of the operation reflects a commitment to ethical animal husbandry and environmental stewardship.

“Farming, to me, is about more than growing food. It’s about raising animals with respect, honoring the land, and making sure families have access to fresh, nourishing food they can trust.” said Felicia.
Now, with support from the Dauntless Veteran Foundation’s Agricultural Grant, the farm is poised to grow. The grant will fund a new chicken coop, a fresh layer flock, and a business computer. Essential investments to evolve from a small-scale passion project into a more resilient, sustainable operation.

“My 24 years in the Army Reserve has taught me to adapt, to problem-solve, and to always keep moving forward. That mindset now fuels my work as a farmer” says Felicia.
Felicia has spent years ensuring the welfare of military animals. That same care, compassion, and precision now drives every decision on the farm. Her experience as a Senior Trainer also lives on in the way they mentor aspiring farmers and share knowledge with the local community.
Little Ohana Farm isn’t just producing food, it’s cultivating hope, community, and a future grounded in respect for both animals and people.
